Sweet Treats in Mashpee
Cupcake Charlie’s sits in Mashpee Commons at 10 Central Square. Since opening in 2008, this family business has grown from one small shop to multiple locations across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
How It Started
A husband and wife team started the business when the real estate market crashed. With no professional baking experience, they took a chance on cupcakes. Their first Mashpee shop did so well they soon moved to a bigger space in the Commons.
What They Sell
The shop bakes 16 different cupcake flavors daily from a collection of over 150 recipes. Fan favorites include:
- “Hostess with the Mostess” – chocolate cake with vanilla cream filling and chocolate ganache
- “Rockin’ Red Velvet” – southern-style with cream cheese frosting
- “Charlie’s Chocolate Chip” – vanilla cake packed with mini chocolate chips
- “Peanut Butter Pleasure” – chocolate cake filled with peanut butter ganache
Beyond cupcakes, they offer:
- “Whirlies” – cupcakes mixed with soft-serve ice cream
